How to Make a Water Filter in the Wild

When procuring water in the wild, you should also filter it for possible contaminants.  The best course of action is to carry a high quality water filter in your kit.  Currently, my favorite water filter for the price is the Sawyer Squeeze Water Filter.  This innovative filter system will allow your to quickly and safely procure water from almost any source.  Plus, it’s simple design means less chance for malfunctions in the field when you need it most.

What about the times you have to purify water without a filter?  There are dozens of methods to choose from that require little to not gear.  In this video he explains a simple method that involves using a 2-litter bottle to create a multi use water filter.  Remember, use these methods at your own risk!
