Who doesn’t want to build a log cabin out in the woods?  Log cabin’s are the perfect choice for rural structures especially in cold environments because they hold heat in very well.  Just add a wood stove and you have the perfect off-grid renewable heat source.  Plus, nothing beats the comfort and ambiance of a wood burning stove.  In some cases, log cabins can be built with the trees on your property and a lot of sweat equity.  If you are shopping for a bug out location on a budget, buying a rural piece of land and build a primitive off-the-grid log cabin is a great choice.  In this video you will see a realistic overview of the challenges inherent in building your shelter.

    Clear the ground where you intend to build the cabin of brush, trees or other obstructions like rocks. Level the ground and then stake out the outline of the cabin.

    Great video. I started on a primitive log cabin last year and i’m still working on it. This is a huge undertaking and will take a lot of hard work to finish it.
